I am a member of the Young Singers Foundation Silent Auction team. The Young Singers Foundation (YSF) is committed to enriching the lives of young people by supporting educational and performance opportunities in vocal music. It is an official charity of Sweet Adelines International. The auction, which occurs each year at International, is one of our main fundraisers for the foundation which provides scholarships and grants in support of vocal music for young people. With International taking place in Nashville this year we are hoping the choruses of your fine region will be willing to help us in collecting items for the auction.

The silent auction team is at this time looking for donations of quality products - they can be anything from artwork; pottery; quilts; jewelry; gift certificates; coaching certificate; vacation packages (such as place to stay (hotel, time-share or your own vacation pad); wine from your Region; authentic items from your Region/part of the world; anything goes in a Silent Auction and we like to cater to all budgets. We only ask that the merchandise be new and either shipped to Nashville or delivered to the YSF Silent Auction booth by Monday of contest week.

If you work for a major corporation (such as Starbucks, Disney, an airline, Chicos, etc.) and have access to the company marketing guru, we would love for you to ask for a donation of product/s for the auction. We can provide you with a copy of our tax-exempt certificate. If they need a letter on official stationary we can generate that as well. [Side note: Does anyone have a contact at the Opryland Hotel? They were generous t the last Nashville International and contributed a stay for 2 people for 3 nights and it bought in over $500 to the auction that year]

Our goal for this year in Nashville is to raise US $25,000 - you can be part of that success story by helping us collect items for the auction. We cannot ever have too many items. We have found having two parts to the Silent Auction works great - the "pay now and take away" and the remaining items in the "in the auction until the end" is something the members really like. Often members are caught up in rehearsals, competing, or just simply don't see themselves as having time to come back to the Silent Auction and are happy to pay the asking price and walk away with the item. Thank you for your continued support of the Young Singers Foundation.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

In Harmony, Shelly Pardis
