Bio HereHarmony Hills - Dr. John Buttler
A barbershopper since age 9, Dr. John has performed over 130 quartet songs on the contest stage. Highlights include 2 international performances, 4 Dixie District top-3 finishes, and 20 Dixie district top-10 finishes (in three voice parts). He is also a veteran of International chorus competition. As a director in the BHS, he has directed a chorus to 6 Dixie District Top-5 finishes, and ranked top-3 internationally as a small chorus with a score equivalent to 605 points in Sweet Adelines. Dr. John is a member of the BHS Dixie District Coaches Guild, coaching choruses and quartets across the southeast. He has experience on the Dixie District Faculty for annual educational seminars at Clemson University, and served as clinician for Harmony Explosion (youth barbershop camp). He has coached Sweet Adeline quartets including a 2nd place quartet in Region 23, and serves on the Region 23 Music faculty. His Sweet Adeline experience as Director of Harmony Hills Chorus includes DCP/Certified Director, 2 small chorus championships, 2 top-5 overall finishes, and 2 top-10 rankings in Sweet Adelines International small choruses. Other areas of musical experience and performance include rock-and-roll, blues, jazz, bluegrass, opera, praise and worship, choral/choir work, musical theatre production/musical directing, and orchestra conducting (including writing orchestrations). Dr. John is a member of the American Choral Directors Association. An avid instrumentalist and percussionist, he performs regularly on 7 different instruments. From a technical background, he has extensive experience in sound and lighting for theatre, concerts, sports events, rock and roll (including technical lighting for Bruce Springsteen, Robert Palmer, Robert Plant, Chicago, and Waylon Jennings), and production experience including recording and CD production. Stacy Branch joined Sweet Adelines in the spring of 1998 as the director of Peach State Chorus, now known as Harmony River, in Augusta, Georgia. She has successfully completed the DCP program and is a Certified Director.Harmony Shores - Jennifer Williams
In her other music world, Stacy holds a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Music Education and is a Master Teacher. She currently serves
as the Fine Arts Department Head and teaches guitar, Advanced Placement Music Theory and Chorus at Lakeside High School.
Memphis City Sound - Nan StahlJennifer Williams started singing Tenor at 16 years of age in Arizona under the direction of her mother, Barbara Link, in a chorus that was then called The Lost Dutchman Chorus. During her Sweet Adeline life, she has held many positions including Choreographer and Section Leader. Jennifer has sung in 3 different regions: 21, 14 and 23. While singing in Region 14, she won a 3rd and 1st place medal with Potomac Harmony in Arlington, VA. After relocating to Panama City in 1996 with her husband, Captain Scott Williams, Jennifer joined Harmony Shores Chorus. She became their Director in 1999. As a young director, she experienced many challenges, and met each with confidence and genuine talent. That talent was rewarded when Jennifer won Novice Director at Region 23’s annual competition in 2001! Jennifer has been in four registered quartets, the latest being Hoopla! In addition to her busy chorus schedule, Jennifer is the mother of three wonderful children, Kati—14, Drew—11, and Eric—8.
Bio HereMetro Nashville Chorus - Kim Wonders, Master Director
Kim Wonders has been an active member of Metro Nashville since 1979. She sang bass in the quartet, “Friendship Factor,” Region 23’s 1983 Quartet Champions. Kim became the chorus director in 1988, and under Kim’s direction Metro Nashville became Regional Chorus Champions in 1989, competing in the Sweet Adelines International Competition in Salt Lake City in 1990. In 2008, Kim will take MNC to the Harmony Classic for the fourth time, and this spring, Metro Nashville earned wildcard slot in the 2009 International competition. In Kim’s other life, she is Music Department Chair and Choral Director at Hunters Lane High School. She is also an adjunct professor at Trevecca College in Nashville, where she works with a women’s chorus, Treble Tones. Kim is a member of Region 23 Education Steering Committee.
Scenic City - Sally Whitledge
Sally Whitledge has been a member of Sweet Adelines for 50 years and during that time has served in the capacity of both singer and director. Sally has achieved the level of Certified Director. Sally was also a member of The 4th Edition Quartet - winners of the 1972 SAI International Quartet Competition. Sally was named the 1972 Bass of the Year.Smoky Mountain Harmony - Kevin Miller

Smoky Mountain Harmony is proud to introduce our new director, Kevin Miller. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Tennessee and has grown up in the Knoxville area. His musical talents and achievements include Barbershop Harmony Quartet singing with the “Quintessential K’s”, Honors bands and choruses. He is a proud UT alumnus and avid UT sports fan. Although his Barbershop experience was in singing rather than directing, Kevin has made rapid strides in acclimating to the directing style of Barbershop.Smokie Mountain Melodies- Phyllis Baker
Phyllis Baker a highly-respected Director from Pinellas, Florida who has directed on International stage. She has taken the Smokie Mountain Melodies of 15 members and grown it to approximately 39 members within a short period of time. The chorus repertoire has also grown exponentially.Song of Atlanta - Becki Hine, Master Director
Becki Hine became Master Director in 1999 and has since enjoyed a 10th place finish, an 8th place finish and 16th place finish at International Chorus contests. She is currently enjoying the 12th place finish earned at the International Chorus contest in Las Vegas in 2006. She has produced four recordings for Song of Atlanta. In her spare time, Becki has achieved Approved Judge status in the Showmanship category with SAI and coaches other choruses and quartets across the nation.Sound of the Bay - Paula Reeves

Paula Reeves is a native of Mobile, a graduate of Davidson High School and Livingston University with a major in vocal performance. She is a Certified Director. She is the proud mommy of three beautiful boys, Boone, Dustin and David. Paula joined Sweet Adelines in 1988 and has performed with the chorus for 14 years and with the Championship Quartet "Mystic Rhythm" for 5 years. She currently sings Lead with the Trading Places quartet. Paula was awarded the Region 23 "Novice Director" award in 2002 and under her direction, the chorus placed 3rd in the "Small Chorus" division.Southern Accent - Dot Hackman
Dot has been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1977, and has sung in four different choruses in three different states. She has been very active on the administrative side, serving in all elective offices and quite a few appointed ones. She served as the associate director of Harmony Hills for many years and became a certified director in 1991. She has competed in three different quartets in two voice parts, lead and baritone. Dot is currently the Region 23 Finance Coordinator. In her other life she works as a health insurance underwriter.
Sue Ann Justus has been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1964, and a chorus and quartet members in 6 states. Her quartet, "Debonnairers," competedin three International contests. She directed Region 4's Moutain Harmony Chorus (1995 and 1996 Small Chorus Champions). In 1998 and1999, she directed Sounds of Pittsburgh (a large chorus of 70+ voices) in Region 17. She is Region 23's
Education Coordinator and also coaches throughout our region.

TuneTown Show Chorus - Sherry Lewis, Master Director
As a member of Sweet Adelines International since 1989, Sherry Lewis was associate director of the International Championship chorus Toast of Tampa, prior to becoming director of TuneTown Show Chorus. She served on the Music Faculty of SAI Region 9 for several years, and is currently a member of Region 23's Music Faculty, visiting many SAI chapters throughout a four state region. Marquee, her Florida quartet, was a 4-time Region 9 medalist and an International wildcard selection. Another former quartet of hers, Reckon So, won the SAI Region 23 championship 4 times and competed internationally an equal number of years. Sherry's current quartet, Fiddlestix, earned a wildcard invitation to compete at the International competition in Calgary, AB, Canada in October, 2007. In July 2003, TuneTown Show Chorus received its first International medal, achieving a score high enough to qualify Sherry for the coveted Master Director, the highest director level awarded by the organization.
